Bristol Palin: The Height of Hypocrisy
Earlier, we reported about teen mom Bristol Palin’s upcoming cameo on ABC Famliy’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Give it up for family values!
Isn’t this hypocritical and counterproductive? Isn’t having Bristol Palin on the show basically glorifying teen pregnancy? The network said in a press release:
“Bristol Palin is the most famous teenage mother in America. We’re thrilled to have her join us, and I think she will bring additional attention to the issues facing teen parents that we’ve been exploring for a couple of seasons now.”
“I am thrilled to be on this show and to be a part of a program that educates teens and young adults about the consequences of teen pregnancy,” said Palin.
What a crock.
Bristol Palin has chosen life. And apparently fame.
By putting a teen mom in any popular entertainment medium, ABC Family is (indirectly if not overtly) celebrating the fact that she’s a teen who got pregnant.
After all, Bristol Palin is known for exactly two things:
- Being the daughter of Sarah Palin
- Getting knocked up by Levi Johnston
Now her famous mom wants to utilize that fact to make Bristol a celebrity while espousing family values at the same time. It’s as disgusting as it is laughable.
Not to mention the ridiculousness of Sarah’s claims last week about her family being off limits. Guess that only applies if Family Guy takes shots at them, eh?
This isn’t Bristol’s first dubious attempt to have it both ways. Last year, she was named Candie’s “Teen Pregnancy Ambassador.” What does that even mean? Especially from a clothing line whose ads feature Britney Spears in booty shorts?
2008: The seeds of celebrity (and Tripp Johnston) are sown.
Apparently it matters not, because it’s all about making money off THE MOST FAMOUS TEEN MOM EVER! Really, ABC Family? This is your marketing hook?
Altruism, this is not. If education and prevention are really your goals, start doing public service announcements or donating time and money to charity.
If the Palins wants to shamelessly promote the Palins and teen pregnancy, great. But let’s call it what it is – self-serving PR under the guise of “education.”

At the very worst, featuring Bri$tol Palin on a show about teen moms might mislead some adolescent girl into thinking that if she has a baby, she’ll get to live in a luxurious house like Bristol does, with plenty of relatives around to lend a hand with the baby.
Given that her own mother pimped her out at the Republican National Convention, pregnant, it’s hard to imagine what “secret” Bri$tol might disclose on the air. I’d like to see her tell the home audience that she is Trig’s biological mom as well–now, THAT would be a “secret” whose disclosure is long overdue!
Proof of her hypocrisy. In papers submitted by Bristol in the case where she is seeking full custody of Tripp Palin Johnston, she stated: “I believe that Levi Johnston will soon be filming a reality show in Alaska. I do not believe it would be in Tripp’s best interest for Levi’s reality show to be filming this case as it unfolds, or for Levi Johnston to be capitalizing of this custody case through his reality show.”
What a great example to set out for pregnant teenagers. Bristol, who has done nothing but benefit from large check payments for magazine covers, the most recent being $100,000 for a cover and story. People magazine. Fee payment and expenses for a day’s work as the Teen Ambassador at Candie’s Foundation, founder and CEO Neil Cole, who most recently was in talks to buy “Playboy”. Yes – Playboy. Candie’s who resigned Britney Spears for the marketing campaign. Another pillar of the community!
For Bristal, having a baby has been quite profitable for a few days work here and there. Just the message you want to put out to teens “You too can make $100,000″!! Her mantra of “do as I say, not as I do” falls on deaf ears. Then again, Bristol is not known for her speak ability other than answering a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the majority of questions. When asked about her relationship with Levi – she refused to answer personal questions.
So she’s fronting these associations with Candie’s, magazines and now a network for a $$$ CHECK. She has never said a word outside of an event or appearance unless there was payment for it. She have proved herself as the same hypocrite as her mother. Like mother, like daughter. Her mother uses her sexuality for votes. So is Bristol. I wouldn’t give you two bits for them and in my language two bits means 25 cents. Add to it, Bristol, instead of getting paid before the roll in the hay, she’s collecting the 6 figure checks after doing it. Makes her look even cheaper.
Bristol lives in a million dollar home, drives a new Cadillac, housekeeper, nanny and has Mommy Dearest picking up the tab for Bristols’ wants and needs. The SOA is picking up the insurance tab for her child. Sounds like a real hard luck story this girl has to tell. Perhaps she can explain why she refuses to share custody with the baby’s father and has refused Levi visitation.
The dumbing down of America! Proof, it’s not just the prostitutes that are making money off of sex! Wake up people, abstinence only DOES NOT work. Raising a child is a lifetime liability…not just a trist in the hay! Start talking with your children because the Repugs are doing everything they can to dumb these kids down. Turn off these damn shows, cell phones, twittering, facebook, drinking, drugs and have more parental supervision and homework! And practice what you preach…they learn a lot from watching you. Sarah?
